We built a star out of stone and We put it in the Earth now can you listen? Simple steps to make a home, Sightin' signs of when to roam in subtle twinklin' Can you catch the sight of Venus overnight? One love sparks in me I do believe A bird went flying into a window The fool out of the forest soon to fall If the greatest fulfillment in this life is to see the sky, Then where oh where oh where do I put my feet? ONE LOVE, ONE LIGHT ONE HEART BETWEEN THESE EYES ONENESS WITHIN THE VIEW Insight inspired intuitively admired, Gracious for the gift to be Wrap it up for you with flowers and perfume to open up my mind This offering, a humble recognition of your grace For in me I know it's all the work of you And what I do not for me nor for reward No matter the results the fruits I do not hoard Still bearing them for you for you I grow And I water this seed and wait patiently For it's you I know, the knowledge will grow inside And I'll tip toe upon my destiny, Yeah I'll tip toe upon my destiny ONE LOVE, ONE LIGHT ONE HEART BETWEEN THESE EYES ONENESS WITHIN THE VIEW And we sew a garden by your will As friends lovers and foes we'll all agree In truth trust hope faith love belief Intention beholds the lock and key To hear the bud upon its opening And we listen to the sweet sound We listen to sweet sound of ONE LOVE, ONE LIGHT ONE HEART BETWEEN THESE EYES ONENESS WITHIN THE VIEW

The silence as we embark Is a moment out of time From the bottom of these walls My eyes devour the sublime Winding sliver as blue as my mind’s eye There can never be A better question for me Is it how far we roam, Or with whom we find home? The zebra stone is cool under my toes It pulses and hums a tune we somehow know We descend like water and emerge a smiling mess With minds full of diamonds we return to meet the rest We laugh until we can’t see straight and our bellies ache Coz a day without sun can be whatever you make We laugh until we can’t see straight and our bellies ache Coz a day without sun can be whatever you make There can never be A better question for me Is it how far we roam, Or with whom we find home?

Jagged spires pierce the sky, oh they reach, oh how they reach Jagged spires spill the clouds, oh how they reach, oh how they reach A scar left on the earth, I’m deep within, deep within Confined to follow the incision line, the incision line The deeper I descend Move closer to the beginning than the end Oh these ancient walls they crumble The stones return to sand While the roaring river rumbles And reclaims what it can The young ascend, the old remain, remain the same As living relics of what has been and what can never be again The monolithe’s the canvas, water the brush, life’s cool rush Beneath the constant buzzing strokes, it whispers “join us” The deeper I descend Move closer to the beginning than the end Oh these ancient walls they crumble The stones return to sand While the roaring river rumbles And reclaims what it can And reclaims what it can And reclaims its sand

How do you move like a gull Your wings are still and yet still you soar Is it just good timing we’ve found Or a gentle fall back to the ground The edgeless blur, sea of green Peopled by the ancients Rushing through this ever unfolding dream Their silence echoes their patience The view from stair nine Stretches far beyond that borderline I’ll never see what’s yours to see So I’ll keep looking for mine A buoyant thought breaks on through I’m a ship at the whim of the ocean Rising up from things I once knew Is a resigned quietude… to the mercy of motion I take the longer road back to the sand In the off-chance I’ll catch your path My feet move slowly, strangers in this land But I know the fog will lift, when I make you laugh again The view from stair nine Stretches far beyond that borderline I’ll never see what’s yours to see So I’ll keep searching for mine We take another pull from that sweet Rueda potion And let the mist wet our clothes Must be a reason why we’re swept up in this motion Caught between what’s gone and yet to come Then you said “although you can’t see it There’s a lightness that accompanies the dark So when you’re walking with your hands brushing the wall Just feel what’s yours, and you’ll find your spark” The view from stair nine Stretches far beyond that borderline I’ll never see what’s yours to see So I’ll keep looking for mine The view from stair nine Stretches far beyond that borderline I’ll never see what’s yours to see So I’ll keep searching for mine I’ll never see what’s yours to see So I’ll keep looking for mine

about

Snacks is the first batch of original music I've released under my own name. These songs are dear to me. They chronicle experiences in my life that have stuck with me most vividly. "Within the View" was written by my older sister Liz and I'm so very excited it is featured on this EP.
